History

After World War II there was a strong cooperation between the Nordic countries within many areas of the society. The Nordic concrete associations united and created the Nordic Concrete Federation (NCF). NCF was initiated by the Swedish and the magazine “Nordisk Betong” (Nordic Concrete) was created. The magazine was a cooperative project between the Nordic concrete associations and then the Nordic Concrete Federation was established. The magazine was the main actor.

The magazine was first published in 1957 and in Sweden it replaced the magazine “Betong” (Concrete). Unfortunately “Nordisk Betong” expired in 1990 following the Danish, and later the Norwegian concrete associations´ withdrawal from the project. Instead, priority was given to the Nordic Concrete Research magazine (NCR), which is a scientific publication founded in 1982, published twice a year and containing articles describing Nordic research on concrete.
